Returning to Blogging

Many years ago, I started a blog. It went by various names, such as Lisa Wields Words, Woman Wielding Words, etc. I know, it's a long title for a website, but I didn't start it with business in mind.

In those days, I wrote for several reasons:

  • to process my life

  • to share stories

  • to connect with others

  • to play with words, because I love writing.

Years ago, I wrote my first book.
Years ago, I wrote my first book.

I followed other blogs. I joined every writing challenge. I uplifted and supported everyone I followed. We began to form a community, and it was wonderful

Then, I got cocky and turned my website into one that used just my name. Somehow, that shift led to a loss of the community that I had built. This was also at a time when social media sites like Facebook were beginning the social media world in which we now live.

Since then, I've branded myself in many ways. My personal website became a book website http://www.lisaakramer.com/. There is a blog over there, but it does not feel like a place to write about anything and everything--so I use it mostly when I want to focus on the process of writing.

Since then, I have traveled through and explored many different social media tools, where you can still find me to this day.

I've built communities here and there, but haven't found my social home. And now, with the toxicity that has developed everywhere--because of the current regime that thrives on hate, racism, anti-everyone propaganda--I've felt even more disconnected.

Honestly, many of us do.

So I decided to go back to simplicity; back to writing about anything and everything in a space intended to be one of community.

This is that space.

Human Thoughts and Creativity, Not AI

I decided to switch platforms (for reasons), so now I am learning new tech and figuring things out.

Much to my disturbing surprise, as soon as I set up this site, it provided me with three AI-written blog posts.

I am utterly disgusted. The purpose of starting a blog (or a podcast, and YouTube channel) is to CREATE!

As you get to know me, you will see that I believe in the power of creativity. While AI can be a tool for creativity, it should never replace the actual work of putting your own thoughts and words on a page. I don't mind AI checking my grammar (although sometimes we disagree). I will even sometimes use it to help me envision something.

But I will never post a blog post or a video that is not mostly from me. My thoughts, my ideas, my rants, my successes, and my failures. These pages will always come from my authentic voice, and hopefully remind others that we, as living creative human beings, deserve to have our voices heard.

Join me for this journey. Comment, interact, make suggestions, and share with others.
